This season, Neff has introduced its first freestanding model, K3990 which sets new standards in design and practicality, and is fully clad in stainless steel top, sides and front.

It's really capacious, and comes with a unique temperature controlled VarioBox, so you can store different types of food such as vegetables or meat at the most appropriate temperature. Wine bottles slot neatly into the supplied moveable wine rack. There's water and ice on tap too - the fridge freezer is plumbed in, has a 2.5 litre water storage tank, and is capable of producing 100 icecubes in 24 hours - more than enough for a party!

For total integration into your kitchen design, there are two types of appliance door hinges: fixed hinge or sliding hinge. This provides two straightforward installation options - depending on your preference and the model being replaced.

The benefits of this type of hinge are that you can add more weight to the door, and open it at a larger angle, making access and use easier. The doors close automatically at an angle of approx 15%.

The hinged furniture door is attached to the appliance with a series of brackets. As the furniture door opens, the appliance door is opened via the sliding bracket arrangement. It's best to discuss your needs with a skilled kitchen fitter before installation.

We are right at the forefront of refrigeration technology. Not only are all the fridges and freezers in our current range free of harmful CFCs and HFCs, but all the appliances come with an 'A' rating. Some of the latest fridges can achieve the same storage temperatures as your local supermarket, allowing you to keep fresh fruit and vegetables at peak freshness for longer periods of time.

Many of our new models have electronic controls so it's easy to maintain the exact temperature in the fridge at a glance. This means also you can operate the SuperFreeze function when you're freezing fresh food to lower the temperature for more rapid freezing. The SuperCool function can be used when you've done your weekly shop and are putting a lot of food into the fridge. By operating SuperCool, you are preventing the increase in temperature you'd normally expect when you add a large amount of fresh food. Once the food is cold, the temperature automatically reverts to the appropriate setting. Several new fridges also have special humidity controlled drawers, suitable for storing fruit and vegetables. Openings at the back of the drawers can be altered to control the flow of air and retain moisture.

All our fridges feature an automatic defrost operation via the cold wall refrigeration system. Our freezer models K9724 and K3990 have the added benefit of being 'frost free'. This means you don't have to spend time defrosting your appliance, because it's done automatically before it has a chance to build up.

Between O°c and 5°c. Any warmer, and the food will go off. Any colder, and fresh food can be ruined and nutrients lost. In addition, to maximise the freshness of your food you should look for an appliance with a fan or with CircoCool shelving so that hot spots are minimised.
